Breakfast Club: Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Breakfast Club?

We are a non-profit, student run organisation that has been operating within the AUT Faculty of Business since 1993.
School Council, in conjunction with St. James Anglican Church, operates a Breakfast Club every regular school day in the church hall located one block from the school (corner of Glasgow and Paisley St.). The Club is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. to all students and staff. There is no charge but donations are always accepted. This is a non-profit club whose aim is to encourage students to come to school well-fed and ready to learn. Please enter the church by the back door near the parking lot.
Our Breakfast club is not a place for Saturday detention. Instead it is a place for students to come together to hang out and hear from a devotion led by a fellow students. We meet at Chick-fil-a every Thursday during the school year at 7:00am. Transporation is provided to the Jr. High and Sumner Hill. Transportation can be arranged for High School students also.
Students come to school at 8:05 and eat a light breakfast in the classroom with other club members and Mrs. Paige. They receive a homework pass and a Breakfast Club pencil. An all day pass is raffled. Breakfast Club meetings are held approximately every five weeks. All students are able to make The Breakfast Club if they put names on their papers, and pass them in the day after they are assigned.
The breakfast club is a loose affiliation of riders who meet on Sunday morning and ride to breakfast. There may be someplace to ride to after breakfast; you are welcome to join, but feel free to go off on your own. The best we can figure the club has been going since 1949. There are several weekend or long weekend rides planned throughout the year, too. Favorites include the annual trek to the Carson City/Minden/Gardnerville region and two rides to Death Valley, one in the spring and another in the fall.
