Will there be cake?

Oh, yes. Eat Cake , a small bakery near Washington Park in Milwaukee, will be supplying our wedding cake.

What cake flavours are there? (fruit cake, chocolate cake, etc.)

Our birthday cakes can be chocolate fudge cake or vanilla cake. We also make a devine white chocolate mud cake for which you pay an additional R50.

Is there cake inside?

No, there is no cake inside. PAMCAKES ® are all candy. No need to worry that the cake will spoil.

What is the difference between cake boards, cake cards and cake drums?

Cake cards are thinnest and used for lightweight gateaux or cakes. Cake boards are slightly thicker and stronger and will take more weight. These boards can be made from cardboard or hardboard for extra strength. Cake drums are approximately 12mm thick and are more often used for celebration cakes. They are strong and will take the weight of larger cakes.

Is the cake boxed?

We try to box all of our cakes the best we can. Large tiered cakes will be boxed, but may not have a lid. To transport your cake, make sure you have a flat surface to place the cake in either your car or Van. We do not recommend traveling with your cake on a passengers lap or the seat of the car. If you need to use the seat, please bring some sort of padding to level the seat, so it is not slanted. We do offer professional wedding cake boxes if you have far to travel for $20.00 purchase.

What is a Groom's Cake?

This is largely a southern tradition. They are normally decadent chocolate cakes or a novelty design to honor the groom's occupation, hobby or interests.
It is a specialty cake that is usually a sculpture in the shape of a hobby of the groom. For example a golf ball, truck, airplane, guitar, etc… Grooms cakes are approximately $4.00 per serving.

What is genoise cake?

Genoise is a fine-crumb French sponge cake. Most people would just call it vanilla cake.

What is a diaper cake?

Is there a cake-cutting fee?

Yes, if you bring your own wedding cake we will charge a cake-cutting fee of $3.50 per person.

How are the cake toppers shipped?

Cake toppers are shipped Priority Mail (2-3 days). They are insured for the full value of the piece in case lost or damage occurs in the mailing process. Toppers are wrapped in bubble wrap and surrounded by foam, and double boxed with additional foam for added security. Express shipping is available upon request. Shipping outside the U.S. is also available to certain locations.

How is the cake served?

Make sure an experience person is in charge of serving the wedding cake. If the cutting is not uniform and if the plating is not kept tidy, disaster is just around the corner. A true nuptial faux pas results when you run out of cake servings for your guests.

What is the Cake Gallery?

There will be a special area set up for edible art displays. Anyone attending can bring something they have made to share their idea with other attendees. If it is a special technique you wish to share, please write up a brief explanation. Everyone bringing a display will receive a gift. The Instructors will also have a sample of their classes on display in the Registration Room for all to see.

When was my cake baked?

Cake, like wine, needs a little time to reach its maximum flavor. We give our cakes a day to rest in the fridge. This way it will taste better once the flavors have had a chance to marry overnight. •

Is that a uterus on top of the cake?

What is a “Kitchen Cake”?

A Kitchen Cake is basically a wedding cake that has the same number of layers and flavorings as the main wedding cake does, however it is kept in the kitchen where the caterer is able to cut it up while your guests are eating their dinner. This cake is not decorated to the same extent that the main wedding cake is, but is the exact same cake layers and flavors. Because of the reduced decorating time, this saves you a little money on your cake, without letting your guests in on that secret of course!

Does the cake need to be Refridgerated?

The cake should be kept cold for transportation. If the cake is for the next day, refridgeration is preferable. If the cake is for the same day, it can sit out from morning until late night ( in a shaded, room temperature location … no excessive heat).
