Cardboard cartons for cottage cheese, ice cream or milk are not sufficiently moisture-vapor resistant to be suitable for long term freezer storage.

We do not recommend freezing our Cottage Cheese, Sour Cream and/or Buttermilk, as the taste and texture may be adversely affected.

Can I freeze Rachel's cottage cheese or yogurt?

We don't recommend freezing Rachel's cottage cheese. While some people find that freezing Rachel's yogurt creates a delicious frozen treat, keep in mind freezing changes the texture, allowing lumps and ice crystals to form. The live and active cultures in Rachel's yogurt will become dormant and lose much of their nutritional benefit when frozen.

The milk Natura uses is lactose-free. The cottage cheese has only trace amounts of lactose. Because of this and its limited inclusion in the formula, the ultimate amount of lactose in the finished product is insignificant and would not aggravate a lactose intolerant pet.
