What is the JAM! Session?
This is a fun, informal performance at the end of the workshop. The TAMJAMS! faculty will introduce themselves and tell students about their experiences in the dance profession. A Comic Jam is when a bunch of cartoonists get together and draw comics together. There are jams in a lot of major cities here in the states and across Canada. There is a monthly Montreal jam, on which ours is based, that has been going on for several years and is hosted by our old friend Salgood Sam. There are others in Maryland, San Francisco and Seattle, that I know of. What is the safety and security at the jam?
We assign a key team of guests to help manage security and we tag all instruments coming into the jam. You must not leave the jam with instruments without okaying them through one of the hosts. We have a low crime area and we keep most of the jam contained inside fences and on private property. We are not liable for any damage or theft. We have never had any incident of damage, theft, loss or injuries. People have forgotten their guitars, tuners and accessories but we returned them all.

We have limited parking but if you do this everything will work. First pull into the driveway and unload and say hello then park on the street with the traffic on the same side everyone else does (uphill) and walk back up the street which is a gentle slope. A drawing Jam is where a group of artists or friends get together somewhere and draw for the hell of it. We draw to make each other laugh, finish a deadline/gift, or just enjoy the company of some hep creative cats. A dawing jam usually lasts a few hours, and can be everyone doing the same thing, or each person working on individual projects. At the end of the night everyone “shows the class” the fruits of their labor, and hopefully leaves feeling accomplished.
