How popular is organic food?
It's difficult to say. A surprisingly large percentage of consumers say they would buy organic food if the price was the same as conventional produce. Organics now represent about 2% of the U.S. retail dollars spent on produce. This may seem small, but it represents a phenomenal growth rate in the last 10 years; it is estimated that this percentage with climb to 10% within the next 10 years. It remains to be seen, however, whether organic food will ever become the norm.

Our first priority is to find the best tasting food, this means we buy organic when it's the tastiest option. We are currently not organically certified, which means that even though a good proportion of our range is organically grown we cannot say so. This is because the Graze kitchen handles both organic and non organic produce. However, we are looking into packing separately and before too long we will have a completely organic range.

Is organic food really better than non-organic food?
That's a big question. There's no doubt that growing crops and raising animals organically is easier on the environment. I try to shop organically as much as possible, but to me, fresh and local is better than organic shipped from far away. Some organic foods definitely taste better than non-organic. I've even converted to Heinz organic ketchup because it tastes better than their regular ketchup. With some foods it's hard to tell, so let your budget, ethics and taste buds be your guide.
