Is there anything I can do to reduce the risk of a nose bleed?
It is always advisable to avoid hot drinks or alcohol in the first two to three days following the operation. This is because these fluids will make your nose flush and can cause the blood vessels to dilate which can increase the chance of bleeding. Avoid any strenuous exercise and lifting as this will put pressure on the blood vessels. It is generally advisable not to pick your nose or clean it yourself. In most cases you will be given some Sterimar sea water wash to try and help you wash your nose after the operation.
