How long will Restylane™ last?

Restylane™ dissolves naturally over time and is absorbed by your body over time. Your results will depend on several factors including: your skin's structure, your lifestlye and your age. Experience indicates that touch-up and follow-up treatments will add to the duration. Most people choose to have a follow -up treatment within a year after the treatment of wrinkles and folds and within 6 months after a lip enhancement.

Can Restylane™ be removed?

However, restylane™ dissolves naturally with time. If you feel uncertain about the desired results, you can choose to have the treatment done in steps on different occasions.

What are the limitations of Restylane®?

Restylane® cannot be expected to fill in large defects or depressions. Fillers cannot lift or reposition tissues that have settled with age and gravity.

Where is Restylane® used?

Common areas of Restylane® application include the nasolabial fold (the groove between the upper lip and mouth and the cheek), the deep folds around the corner of the mouth and chin, brow frown lines as well as acne scars and other deep scars. Restylane® may also be used in the lips to give them a fuller appearance and to smooth the fine lines in the lip area.

What is involved in the application of Restylane®?

Restylane® injection is a relatively simple, non-surgical technique using an ultra-fine needle. Though some fillers require skin allergy testing prior to use, Restylane® does not and thus can be injected on the same day as the consultation. The area to be augmented is cleaned after which topical or local anesthetic may be applied. An ultra-fine needle is then used to inject the filler in a precise fashion. Ice packs or cool compresses may be used to reduce discomfort and swelling.

Who is a candidate for Restylane®?

Many patients stand to benefit from the use of Restylane®. Patients with relatively limited areas of concern stand to benefit the most, however, as there are limitations as to what can be realistically achieved with Restylane® alone.

What are Restylane and Collagen Used For ?

These products are injectable filler substances which are used primarily to smooth out wrinkles, fill depressed areas such as the corners of the mouth, provide fullness to areas such as prominent smile line folds and provide lip enhancement or redefinition of the lip border thus reducing or eliminating the small grooves responsible for "bleeding" lipstick. Does Restylane hurt?

There is minimal discomfort, but a topical or local anesthetic is available if needed. Perlane ®
Some people may experience the treatment as a mild discomfort. A local anesthetic cream is often used. Another form of anesthesia, a dental block, is used to numb the area when enhancing lips.

Are Restylane® injections safe?

Restylane® has been safely used around the world since 1996. In 2003 Restylane® was approved in USA by FDA for cosmetic use.

How much is a RESTYLANE treatment?

Treatment starts at £230 depending on the nature of the problem and the desired effect. Cost is calculated based on the amount of gel used as well as the time that treatment takes. What are the contents of RESTYLANE?

RESTYLANE consists of 20 mg/ml of stabilized hyaluronic acid and physiological sodium chloride solution with a pH of 7. All RESTYLANE products are clear, transparent and viscous gels. Is there anything to avoid with Restylane?

Yes. Anything that causes “thinning of the blood” can increase bruising and bleeding at the Restylane injection site. Vitamin E supplements, St John’s Wort, aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin), Aleve and other NSAIDS should be avoided for at least 1 week before getting Restylane.
