Why in Java?
There are at least two reasons. First, many more can share the joy of the game when it runs on many different platforms (e.g. on Linux - it was actually implemented in Linux). Second, I like Sun Microsystems. The Java Foundation Classes (JFC) from Sun are very well structured and abstracted in contrast to the extremely awful Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) or the slightly less awful basic windows platform (WIN32).
